Early Thoughts on Dino Charge

 Early Thoughts on Dino Charge

This year, Saban and Nickelodeon are bringing us Power Rangers Dino Charge. It’ll be our third dinosaur-themed series which gives me high hopes since the other two (Dino Thunder and Mighty Morphin, of course) were great. They’ve thrown a lot of preview media at us including trailers, character previews, and a mobile app.

Check out the trailers:

We have a racially diverse cast with only two white people out of the five Rangers. And we have an African-American as the Pink Ranger for the first time. We’re stuck with only one girl, but you can blame that on Japan (if you don’t know what I mean, google “Super Sentai”). One of the Rangers is a centuries old caveman. That’s just awesome.

We got a taste of the theme from the Dino Charge App and I absolutely love it. They put a lot of effort into it and gave us something fun and original instead cutting and remixing the Samurai theme like they did with Megaforce.

They’re actually embracing the theme this year instead of ignoring it like they, again, did in Megaforce. The villain, Sledge, looks like an intimidating foe and I’m hoping for good things from him and his crew.

With the amount of effort it looks like Saban and Nick have put into Power Rangers Dino Charge, I have very high hopes. It looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun.
